Hospitality Club on Facebook - FAQ and Info

On this page you'll find all important info about the HC group(s) on Facebook, how you can use it most effectively, and how you can help spread the idea of HC on Facebook.

• we want to grow the group as big as possible, so many people stumble across it, and maybe learn about HC for the first time. Please help us by inviting your friends, it's very very simple (just click the link), and your friends will thank you one day if they learn about HC this way: http://www.facebook.com/editgroup.php?members&gid=20399766832
• we also want to experiment if people can actually use the group Forum to find accommodation. We will come up with some tips and guidelines in a few days. Of course, using HC is probably more efficient, but if people are active on Facebook and connect there, we should encourage this.

• Why are there several HC groups, can't they be combined? Answer: Anyone is free to start a group on Facebook, and combining functionality doesn't seem to exist. Actually, the other groups HELP HC, since everytime someone adds HC or an HC group to his/her profile, chances rise that someone will learn about our idea. We DO ask the admins of the other groups to link to the official group, so if you find one that hasn't done so yet, please simply send them a message or add a note in this group's Forum/Wall.
• Wouldn't it be great to have a HC app on Facebook? Answer: Yes, indeed, that would be great. If you have some ideas what this app should/could do (besides displaying your love of HC), or if you know a developer who could help us develop an app, please contact Veit.

• most importantly, please invite your friends to the HC group (cannot be said often enough): http://www.facebook.com/editgroup.php?members&gid=20399766832. After you've done so, you can post in this thread about it.
• you could add the HC cause created by our volunteer Tilman: http://apps.facebook.com/causes/view_cause/30771
• you could then invite (“recruit”) your friends to the HC cause (limited by Facebook to 20 per day)
• you could add HC to your “Top Groups” (see Veit's profile to have a look)
• you could join us as a volunteer in the HC Volunteers Group and help HC on Facebook or elswhere: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=7166601274. In this group we'll also find admins to help with long term moderation of the group to keep it spam free.
• we also would like to develop an interesting AND useful HC application for Facebook, if you have some ideas or know developers who could help, please contact Veit.
